Shinjuku Gyoen Green House – 新宿御苑温室 (Bilder/Pictures)

Re-opened just yesterday – and on “Ways to Japan” today already

Please click one of the miniatures above for a slide show in screen size.

How to get there:

Closest to the park is the station Shinjuku Gyoenmae (新宿御苑前 / しんじゅくぎょえんまえ) of the Marunouchi line (丸ノ内線 / まるのうちせん) of the Tōkyō Metro (東京メトロ / とうきょうメトル). But the park is that large that it can be easily accessed from quite a number of railway and subway stations (to name them all here would go a little beyond the scope of this entry).

→ On November 20th, 2012 the completely rebuilt green house in the northeastern part of the park was re-opened. Admission to this green house is included in the park’s admission fee.

Opening hours:

Every day except Monday from 9 am to 4.30 pm (last admission 4 pm).
Should Monday be a national holiday, the park is open on this day and will, in turn, be closed on Tuesday.
Closed during the New Year holidays (December 29th to January 3rd)

Admission Fee:

Adults: 200 Yen
Junior high and elementary school student: 50 Yen
Children under 6 years: free
There a special tariffs for groups, also a one-year-pass is available.
